This is the official page of the Cyprus Cyber Security Challenge (CCSC). Through the CCSC the Cyprus National Team is selected and trained in order to compete at the European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC) which takes place annually.

The Cyprus Computer Society in cooperation with information security specialists in Cyprus, from both academia and the industry is preparing the Cyprus national team for ECSC. These mentors setup and run the national challenges, disseminate the activities and train and prepare the cyber talents for the ECSC.

The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) is a professional, scientific and independent, not-for-profit organization, seeking to develop, promote and serve the ICT sector and professionals in recognition of the impact that informatics has on employment, business, society as well as on the quality of life of the citizen.

The growing need for IT security professionals is widely acknowledged worldwide. To help mitigate this shortage of skills, many countries launched national cyber security competitions targeting towards students, university graduates or even non-ICT professionals with a clear aim to find new and young cyber talents and encourage young people to pursue a career in cyber security.
The European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC) leverages on these competitions by adding a pan-European layer.
ECSC is an initiative by the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) and aims at enhancing cyber security talent across Europe and connecting high potentials with industry leading organizations.
It’s four primary goals are: Cybersecurity, Collaboration, Transparency and Policy

The European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) is a centre of expertise for cyber security in Europe. The Agency is located in Greece with its seat in Heraklion Crete and an operational office in Athens.
ENISA is actively contributing to a high level of network and information security (NIS) within the Union, since it was set up in 2004, to the development of a culture of NIS in society and in order to raise awareness of NIS, thus contributing to proper functioning of the internal market.
The Agency works closely together with Members States and private sector to deliver advice and solutions. This includes, the pan-European Cyber Security Exercises, the development of National Cyber Security Strategies, CSIRTs cooperation and capacity building, but also studies on secure Cloud adoption, addressing data protection issues, privacy enhancing technologies and privacy on emerging technologies, eIDs and trust services, and identifying the cyber threat landscape, and others. ENISA also supports the development and implementation of the European Union’s policy and law on matters relating to NIS.

Active professionals and academics in the field of Cyber Security to offer their expertise and mentoring services to train and prepare participants as volunteers.

Team Members

Young talents aged 14 – 25, with an active interest in the field of information security. Each year they can participate at the Cyprus Cyber Security Challenge through which the National team is selected to participate at the annual ECSC.
